SEX. RE. DIST.

Year: 2022
Cast: György Bajomi Nagy, István Ficza, Bettina Józsa, Éva Kerekes, Milán Vajda
One of the most debated public topics of recent years has been the so-called Theory of Sexual Redistribution, introduced by economist Robin Hanson, a researcher at Oxford University’s Future of Humanity Institute. The theory emerged after it was revealed that the motive behind the Toronto van attack was the perpetrator’s frustration over his lack of success with women. Hanson’s reasoning attempts to apply the framework of social justice to propose the redistribution of sexual goods, treating sexual needs as a fundamental right. Based on this, he suggests that men who are deprived in this area due to the injustices of the age should be granted access to sex.
In our play—created using an outlined narrative combined with the improvisations of the actors—we attempt to imagine a world where sexual redistribution becomes a reality.

There’s nothing bad to say about the Boros family living in the countryside: they are respectable, intellectual people following a vegan diet, even if, in today’s Hungary, they can only thrive by playing by the rules of small-scale corruption. One evening, they invite an old friend, now a powerful water polo coach, over for dinner, but their story takes an unexpected turn. In the middle of the night, a detective shows up at their door and informs them that their son, along with the entire water polo team, has been arrested in connection with the assault of a minor girl.
