DIVORCE

Television documentary film

About:

In Hungary, an average of 16,000–17,000 couples divorce each year, yet we know little about the procedure that shapes the lives of children and divorced parties for the rest of their lives. Is the common belief true that custody decisions inherently favor mothers? How do Hungarian courts assess children’s needs, and do judges listen to the children themselves? Whose side does the court take? What impact does divorce have on children? In the film Divorce, law students explore the divorce process as part of their university course, also uncovering its sociological aspects.
